Trump Hails Saudi Arabia as ‘Greatest Nation in the World’ at Riyadh Forum, Unveils Major Diplomatic Moves

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday praised Saudi Arabia as “the greatest nation in the world” during a high-profile appearance at the Saudi–U.S. Investment Forum in Riyadh, marking a new chapter in the strengthening alliance between Washington and the Kingdom.
Speaking before an audience of top business and political leaders, President Trump commended Saudi Arabia’s economic reforms and growing global influence.
“You are among the most prosperous nations in the world,” he declared. “Riyadh will become a global business hub. The future of the Middle East begins here.”
Trump reserved special praise for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, portraying him as a dynamic force behind the Kingdom’s transformation.
“He works hard — I don’t think he even sleeps at night,” the president said, applauding both King Salman and the Crown Prince for leading a “remarkable and profound transformation in the region.”
Describing his official visit as “historic,” President Trump said, “It is a great honor to be welcomed in Saudi Arabia in this way,” and pledged a deeper alliance. “We will make our relationship with Saudi Arabia even stronger,” he affirmed.
The president also thanked Saudi Arabia for its “constructive role” in facilitating dialogue on the Ukraine conflict, and reiterated the importance of diplomacy in addressing regional tensions.
“I want to strike a deal with Iran to make the world a safer place,” he emphasized.
In a significant policy development, Trump announced the lifting of U.S. sanctions on Syria, citing consultations with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “I decided to lift sanctions on Syria after discussing the matter with the Saudi Crown Prince,” he revealed.
On defense and security, Trump reinforced America’s commitment to its Middle East partners. “Anyone who threatens America and its partners will be met with force,” he warned. “I will not hesitate to use military force to defend Saudi Arabia.”
The remarks, delivered at a forum focused on boosting Saudi–U.S. investment and cooperation, signal a robust diplomatic and economic partnership, as the two nations align on key regional and global issues under Trump’s current administration.
