Nigeria: 15 Students, School Director Missing Over 24 Hours After Leaving Onitsha for JAMB Exam in Imo

Fifteen students and their school director have been reported missing for more than 24 hours after departing from Onitsha, Anambra State, to attend a rescheduled Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination in Okigwe, Imo State.
Sources revealed that the group left Onitsha around 6:30 a.m. but have since not returned, with all attempts to contact them or the school director unsuccessful. Their phone lines have remained switched off, causing growing alarm among parents, school officials, and the wider community.
The disappearance was first brought to public attention on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where a concerned user urged authorities to act swiftly.
As of now, neither JAMB, security agencies, nor the school administration have issued any official statement regarding the incident.
Families of the missing students remain anxious, hoping for prompt updates and the safe return of their loved ones. The search and investigation are ongoing.
