Somaliland President Cirro Meets Kenyan Opposition Leader Raila Odinga, Strengthens Bilateral Ties

Somaliland President, Cabdiraxmaan Mohamed Abdillahi Cirro, has paid a courtesy visit to Kenyan opposition leader and former Prime Minister, Raila Amolo Odinga, in a meeting aimed at reinforcing longstanding ties and exploring new avenues of cooperation between Somaliland and Kenya.
In a message shared via his verified Facebook page, President Cirro described the meeting as a heartfelt farewell engagement with “one of Somaliland’s dearest friends” and commended Odinga’s continued support and friendship.
“We had an in-depth discussion on the historical relationship and enduring friendship between Mr. Raila Odinga and the Republic of Somaliland,” President Cirro stated. “We also explored potential areas of collaboration between our two nations—particularly in the fields of economic development, trade, knowledge exchange, and regional strategic cooperation.”
The President expressed his deep appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by Odinga, noting that the reception was a testament to the strong bond between the Republic of Somaliland and the Republic of Kenya.
