False manhood theft accusation leads to mob attack on innocent woman

In a shocking incident that unfolded in Delta State, an 18-year-old, Ebube Linus, raised a false alarm accusing an innocent woman of stealing his manhood.

This baseless accusation triggered a violent mob attack on the woman, leaving her severely beaten and exposed.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, made the revelation in a statement posted on his official social media account.

The incident occurred on Sunday, October 8, on DBS Road in Asaba, and it sent shockwaves through the community.

According to Edafe’s post, Ebube Linus falsely claimed that an elderly woman in a tricycle had touched him, causing his manhood (penis) to disappear.

This unverified accusation drew the attention of more than 100 individuals who gathered at the scene, resorting to mob justice.

The mob ruthlessly attacked the woman, stripping her naked and beating her to a point where her life was in grave danger.

Local law enforcement was alerted to the chaotic situation, and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of GRA Division in Asaba swiftly led a team of police officers to the scene.

Their intervention rescued the battered woman and led to the arrest of Ebube Linus.

Shockingly, upon further investigation, it was revealed that there was nothing wrong with Linus; his manhood remained intact.

He had maliciously fabricated the accusation against the innocent woman.

The incident, tragically, was captured on video and rapidly circulated on the internet, further igniting public outrage.

Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer, strongly denounced the incident and urged citizens to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing that vigilantism and mob justice are unacceptable.

He also promised that those involved in the violent attack, as well as the false accuser, Ebube Linus, would face legal consequences.

“We are hunting for everybody in that video; they will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the law alongside the suspect,” Edafe asserted.
