Salif Keita applauds Burkina Faso’s transition leadership

In a resounding display of solidarity, renowned Malian musician Salif Keita visited Burkina Faso to express his support for Captain Ibrahim Traore, the President of the Transition and Head of State.
The meeting, held last Saturday morning in Ouagadougou, was part of Keita’s engagement in a concert scheduled for Sunday, December 10.
Salif Keita, an iconic figure in African music, commended President Traore for his commendable efforts in reclaiming national territory and his dedication to establishing the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
Keita also praised Traore’s visionary approach towards fostering true African independence.
During his visit, the influential singer unequivocally backed the implementation of the alliance between the three countries of Liptako Gourma, further solidifying his commitment to a united and prosperous Africa. Notably, Keita recently stepped down from the Malian Transitional Legislative Assembly, opting to take on the role of a special advisor to President Assimi Goïta.
