Gambia: Fanta Kaba Jawara Selected For IVLP

Banjul, The Gambia- The United States Embassy in Banjul is pleased to announce the selection of Fanta Kaba Jawara, for the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in the United Sates.

Fanta is a young entrepreneur and Lawyer in The Gambia. She is the Founder and Owner of KJ Cupcakes, a cake shop that makes freshly baked, homemade and handcrafted cakes and desserts. She embarks on mentorship for young people and had hosted the first bake off activity in The Gambia.


She was called to the Bar in The Gambia and is now a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of The Gambia.

Some of her key milestones are making cakes for the First Family of The Gambia, July 4th celebrations of the U.S. Embassy over the years, the Royal visit of Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

IVLP helps strengthen U.S. engagement with countries around the world and cultivate lasting relationships by connecting current and emerging foreign leaders with their American counterparts through short-term visits to the United States. Participants meet with professional counterparts, visit U.S. public and private sector organizations related to their project theme.
