Gambian IGP awarded Golden Star
The Gambian Inspector General of Police, Abdoulie Sanyang, has received Golden Star Award.
This was disclosed in a congratulatory message by the Gambia Police Force on Friday November 11, 2022.
“The Gambia Police Force joins the rest of Africa in congratulating the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abdoulie Sanyang Esq., for being conferred Golden Star Award by Africa Security Watch Awards for his Outstanding Police Service In West Africa In 2021 – 2022,” the message reads.
According to the message, a ceremony was held at the OIC Conference Center in honour of the IGP.
Africa Security Watch was initiated and inaugurated in 2004 to recognize, appreciate, and celebrate individuals; governments; agencies; brands; and companies who have excelled in security administration, practice, and governance in Africa.
In a letter written to the Inspector General of Police, the panel of Judges of the Award Committee recognizes the Police Chief’s “commitment, dedication, exemplary leadership qualities, doggedness, selfless service and effective human resource management in bringing about peace, security and safety in The Gambia, particularly during the last general election.”
“While we congratulate the IGP for this extraordinary achievement at home and continental level, we reaffirm and reassure him of our strongest loyalty and commitment to maintaining peace, order, safety and security in The Gambia,” the letter reads.
