President Barrow receives award in Liberia

The Gambian President, Adams Barrow, has received an award in Liberia.

Barrow was granted the esteemed Grand Cordon, Most Venerable Order of the Knighthood of the Pioneers (GC-MVOKP) by Liberia’s President, H.E George Manneh Weah.


The award was presented during a vibrant ceremony commemorating the 176th Independence Anniversary of the Republic of Liberia in the city of Monrovia.

The citation extolled President Barrow “as a remarkable individual whose political leadership demonstrated unwavering dedication to serving both God and Humanity.”

His endeavours in restoring The Gambia’s reputation among nations served as an inspiration to other African leaders.

He also received recognition for his instrumental role in restoring democracy and implementing crucial security sector reforms in The Gambia.

President Barrow’s significant contributions to fostering peace, security, and development in the ECOWAS sub-region was equally lauded.

Notably, President Barrow’s well-deserved honor was shared with other distinguished personalities, including the Ghanaian President H.E Nana Akufo-Addo, further cementing the occasion as a celebration of exceptional leadership both in Liberia and beyond.
