INTERPOL, GPF collaborate to strengthen officers’ abilities in combatting human trafficking
In a joint effort to tackle transnational crimes, the Gambia Police Force, in partnership with INTERPOL, initiated the second phase of the INTERPOL THB West Africa Specialised Training on Tuesday. The three-day program, held at the Police Credit Union Conference Hall in Kanifing, aims to equip officers with crucial skills and knowledge to effectively identify, investigate, and combat human trafficking.
Distinguished attendees, including the EU Ambassador, the WAPIS team from Abidjan and Lyon, and the DACOREs Manager, gathered to support the initiative. The training highlighted the strategic utilization of the West African Police Information database, emphasizing its role in the Fight Against Trafficking in Human Beings.
The event showcased a commitment from the Gambia Police Force to forge ongoing partnerships with international entities and stakeholders. This collaboration seeks to bolster the capabilities of officers, ensuring they remain at the forefront of the fight against transnational crimes, particularly human trafficking.
