Aircraft displays captivate visitors at South Africa’s annual aerospace show
Aviation enthusiasts gathered in Pretoria over the weekend for the South Africa’s annual aerospace and Defence Trade and Exhibition 2024, braving the chilly weather to witness spectacular aircraft displays and explore cutting-edge aviation and drone technologies.
Held at the Waterkloof Airbase, the annual air show is among the largest aviation showcases in the world, attracting experts, companies, and enthusiasts from across the globe. The South African Air Force led the way, showcasing its impressive fleet and offering pilots the chance to demonstrate their exceptional skills.
Charl Wentzel, a proud aviation enthusiast, praised the event, calling South Africa’s contribution “top class and really worthwhile.” His son, De Waal Wentzel, was equally excited, describing the unique experience of getting close to the aircraft, a rare opportunity compared to seeing them in flight or in video games. He patiently waited in the freezing cold for his chance to sit in the cockpit.
