President Adama Barrow swears in new ministers, introduces office reforms
On Friday, President Adama Barrow presided over the swearing-in ceremony for three newly appointed ministers, alongside the Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service, at the State House in Banjul.
The ceremony marked a significant moment in the government’s efforts to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
During his address, President Barrow announced the creation of a new position within the Office of the President.
This role, he explained, is designed to ensure that decisions made at the Executive level are effectively implemented across all Ministries and Departments.
The newly established Minister and Chief of Staff to the Presidency will play a pivotal role in this initiative, reinforcing coordination and accountability.
The President also highlighted the merger of the positions of Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service.
This move aims to eliminate redundancy and ensure a seamless transition from policy formulation at the Cabinet level to implementation at the Ministry level.
Congratulating the newly sworn-in officials, President Barrow urged them to prioritize the nation’s interests, execute their duties with diligence, and uphold the values of honour and service.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Honourable Habibatou Drammeh reaffirmed their commitment to serving The Gambia with dedication and integrity.
