South Africa dominates Best African Airports 2024

In a recent announcement by Skytrax, a UK-based airline and airport review site, Cape Town International Airport in South Africa has claimed the prestigious title of Best African Airport for the year 2024.

The unveiling of these rankings took place during the 25th anniversary celebration of the World Airport Awards held in Frankfurt, Germany, as reported by BBC on Thursday.

The rankings, derived from a comprehensive survey conducted between August 2023 and March 2024, involved feedback from travelers representing over 100 nationalities. This recognition underscores Cape Town International Airport’s commitment to exceptional customer experiences and operational efficiency.

Following closely behind Cape Town in the rankings is Durban King Shaka Airport, also situated in South Africa, securing the second spot. Johannesburg O. R. Tambo International Airport further solidified South Africa’s dominance in aviation excellence by clinching the third position.

Other airports that made it to the top ten globally include Tokyo Narita Airport (Japan), Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (France), Dubai International Airport (UAE), Munich Airport (Germany), Zurich Airport (Switzerland), and Istanbul Airport (Turkey).
